Types of Neuron


While there are many different kinds of neurons, there are three broad categories based on function:

1.  Sensory neurons: These are sensitive to various non-neural stimuli. There are sensory neurons in the skin, muscles, joints, and organs that indicate pressure, temperature, and pain. There are more specialized neurons in the nose and tongue that are sensitive to the molecular shapes we perceive as tastes and smells. Neurons in the inner ear are sensitive to vibration, and provide us with information about sound.  And the rods and cones of the retina are sensitive to light, and allow us to see.

2.  Motor neurons: These are able to stimulate muscle cells throughout the body, including the muscles of the heart, diaphragm, intestines, bladder, and glands.

3.  Inter neuron’s: These are the neurons that provide connections between sensory and motor neurons, as well as between themselves.  The neurons of the central nervous system, including the brain, are all inter neuron. [1]

Band Pass filter Design

It is designed by giving higher cut of frequency and lower cut of frequencies. We record EEG signal externally by using Electrodes. Because of that Skin noise, skull noise, disturbance noise, power line noise etc noise present in EEG signal. For removing the higher cut off and lower cut of frequency from the signal band pass filter is used. We want the signal frequency up to 30 Hz because the beta band frequencies is up to that frequency. EEG dataset for 64 channels

       This dataset was created and contributed to PhysioNet by the developers of the BCI2000 instrumentation system, which they used in making these recordings. Subjects performed different motor/imagery tasks while 64-channel EEG was recorded using the BCI2000 system. Each subject performed 14 experimental runs: two one-minute baseline runs (one with eyes open, one with eyes closed), and three two-minute runs of each of the four following tasks: 1.
